MY QUALIFICATIONS

My university education

I've got 2 degrees from the university of Bergen:
First, a Bachelors degree in Information- and Communication technology, which was a joint program between the faculties of Social Sciences and Science and Technology. Because there were a lot of electives, I angled my studies more towards the programming side of things, but also got a decent portion of data science, math and statistics in there. The variety of subjecs gave me a lot of experience learning new things, and figuring out how to use new programming languages, methods et cetera.
Second, there's my Masters degree in Informatics, where I picked machine learning as a specialization. Because I already took the machine learning related courses as electives during my bachelor (oops haha), I pretty much had another variety year before the big thesis. The thesis itself is described in the uni section of this site.

Work experience

As a way to make a bit of money and gain some extra skills, I worked as a teaching assistant at the university of Bergen concurrent with my own studies.
The main responsibility of the job was hosting group sessions for students. Doing that was great for improving my communication skills, and has helped me get better at sharing my knowledge with others. It also gave me valuable experience with handling responsibility.
The second main part of the job was grading assignments. Sometimes uni assignments would line up poorly, meaning I had to grade other people's assignments while also finishing my own. While this felt bad while it happened, it did force me to get good at structuring my work efficiently and delivering results in a timely manner.

Programming knowledge

During my education and free time, I've gained experience with various programming languages:
I have extensive experience with Python(especially machine learning related libraries like pytorch), Java and git. I've also worked a good amount with HTML/css/Javascript, but wouldn't call myself an expert on it.
I've also got experience with C++, R, Lua and SQL. Before uni I also made games in Geogebra(yes the math graph tool works surprisingly well for point-and-click games) and batch files.
